About Group Psychotherapy Services
We offer both long-term and short-term psychotherapy groups. These groups are available for people at various stages in their lives who are coping with a variety of challenges. In our psychotherapy groups, attention is paid to the wide array of interpersonal difficulties that can exist between peers, family members, teachers and significant others. Additionally, we offer specialty groups for adolescent, college students, and international student populations. We would gladly answer any questions regarding groups currently available. If you are considering group or would like to recommend someone to group, we offer a free group screening to gather information, offer recommendations and answer questions.
Groups are led by student clinicians in the doctoral clinical psychology training program at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). These services are offered as part of a comprehensive training model in group psychotherapy. Group leaders receive supervision from both GSAPP professors as well as from professional psychologists in the community. The combination of coursework and supervised experience creates an accumulation of expertise and experience that is rare in other graduate training programs, but typical of GSAPP.
